I wouldn't necessarily call concentrating on one thing a fixation, and even if it is, who cares? If you're constantly photographing what you enjoy, eventually you see more and more details to express through your photographs. Just enjoy! And share!
I agree, I think staying focused on a concept enables you see your progression and improvement - and you're enjoying yourself.
After that branch onto another concept, or combine concepts to form something new and different.
Get lost in the world of gear. Spend your time reading about the specs of forthcoming cameras and lenses, instead of actually taking pics. Denigrate the gear you have; fantasise about a fancier camera. That would make you a better photographer, surely? ;)
Surely the sheer fright from the sound of a machine-gun with oversize barrel (and a red ring of course ;) ) is enough to worry even the most veteran of photographers ;) :p

Yes, the DVD-RW installation went fine for me :) It seems to work with iDVD 3 so I hope it works with your application. Good Luck!

They pay lip service about being for the common man but the common man voted conservative because they understand that budgets have to be balanced in households so it should be the same with the government.
And apparently, gays should be kept from marrying, abortion should be illegal, and many other things listed here. They aren't that different from our conservatives in those respects at all, and that makes them scary. They scapegoated to get elected as well. Don't act as if they didn't. The PowerMacs/Mac Pros are 64 bit systems. So Apple couldn't upgrade the Mac Pros with 32 bit processors from its old 32 bit processors. Because people who have Powermacs/Mac Pros needed the 64 bit processor.

Aloha everyone,
I seriously don't understand how people can afford not to complain about the gas prices here in Hawaii. I buy all my gas on any one of the various military bases, as we always get cheaper gas than those gas stations outside. I normally get a gallon of premium lower than most outside gas stations sell their regular unleaded.
Imagine my shock when just last week, it was over $4/gal here at Schofield Barracks (home of the US Army's 25th Infantry Division - Light). It was the same over at the Pearl Harbor-Hickam Combined Base (they merged, but I'm not sure that I got the name correct), although the off-base prices haven't risen quite as sharply, but they're still paying right around $3.96/gallon for regular unleaded gas.
I mean, we're not even in the summer season yet, not that Hawaii actually has a summer season. I mean that, like in the US Mainland, we get raped at the pump during the "summer" season, for no other reason than the gas companies here can do it. I mean, what else can we do except bitch and complain? If we want to drive our cars, we have to buy the gas, right?

I don't care to argue about the effectiveness of the adds. But I will say that the Angel/Devil one was kinda stupid. It didn't even advertise Macs. I think I am tiring of the format of the commercials. I would like to see one show just what can be done with OS X.

I'm sure that this works for a lot of people, but not me.
I travel frequently in the Adirondacks where there NO AT&T service, not even Edge. The whole concept of the ADK region is for it to remain pristine forest and mountain, unspoiled by cell towers. That concept isn't going to change without a NYS Constitutional Amendment, and that is not going to happen in our lifetime.
I think the whole point of having GPS on the iPhone is to be able to get maps as needed. Garmin is missed the boat.

the new x220 does the mba better in three items above today for a fact. time for apple to step it up again.
And is about twice as thick (up to ten times if measured from MBA's thinnest point) and weighs 0.7lb or 1.3lb more. Basically it's just a lighter 13" MBP since even MBP is thinner. No thank you.

Maybe this should be a new feature for the folding widget: to look when you will be overtaken by someone or when you overtake someone.

I too thought this would have been a nice feature and asked EOC to maybe put that data in the xml file they provide.
They will not do it, as it takes away any necessity to go watch your stats on their page (they still do like traffic to the their pages). I understand. The best thing you can do is set yourself a goal to overtake -and maybe a threat - and start multiple instances of the widget showing their positions. :o
They did 'ok' some other changes which will be available through the widget when they implement it (well maybe a few days later). Nothing too fancy mind you, but still nice.
Not as popular as i hoped this widget :(. But my hopes were probably way to high up there :D.

A lot of services are missing from server admin, some have dumbed down features in the server.app (which replaces server preferences) but a lot is missing.
Doesn't seem right to remove services. Perhaps they will reappear later in the beta.
At least for my use, all the services seem to be present (except Printer Server, which I use but don't really need, as all it really offers is spooling and is otherwise a PITA).
I don't really have time to install and look into this. I'll just investigate when the final release comes out, and maybe a .1 after that! I already know of some Lion issues that will keep me away for a while anyway. And as long as Snow Leopard server will work with Lion clients I can certainly wait!

Dropped calls and data plan are not the same thing

I've used the TW iPad app for a couple of weeks and it's not bad. These knucklehead content providers think they can charge you for every screen you watch their so called entertainment. I can only imagine that by the time all is said and done, the TW app will only have home shopping channels available. These content providers, whether they be music or tv keep trying to keep their old obsolete business model intact and seem to fight the advancement of technology. If they had their way, there would be a paid app for every tv channel!

For some reason this bummed me out.
I guess I was hopeful that the developer preview was an old build with just enough for the developers to test their apps, and just enough cool new stuff to keep the public interested.
I was hoping that the build was 6 - 8 months old, and Apple was working on a build with all of the top secret features that was going to blow us away.
But I guess while there are obviously a few things up Apple's sleave, we've seen a good chunk of Leopard. I guess that makes sense given each release has 3 - 5 meaningful new features, and 20 or so little new nice touches.
I guesss my hope stemmed from the opportunity to slap Microsoft and Vista. Looks like Leopard is going to be a typical release.
