I think google has a lock on the map thing. I can't see apple employees driving around remapping the world to get their own data base
google maps itself is pretty crappy compared to Bing maps and some of the higher cost mapping solutions out there. google maps is hardly ever updated

iOS is getting OSX apps (Photoshop, Garage Band, iMovie, Pages, Numbers, Keynote, Photo Booth.......)
OSX is getting apps originally designed for iOS
If you imagine iOS and OSX on a line

They are moving in opposite directions toward each other.
......iOS................|..............OSX.......
Eventually, they will meet in the middle and we will have either 2 similar operating systems or simply a mix of the two.
I think Apple thinks that by taking the best of the two worlds they are creating a "better" user experience. I don't know if this is the case but I think that this is clearly the inevitable long-term outcome. Time will tell.

I am wondering why my Ipod does this...every like 5th time i start it up, it tells me to reconnect to itunes and restore....and does not work unless i restore it. What the heck is going on?

It makes it look like they mean something. Bigger and brighter means more important and more relevant. Having those big, bright graphics in your face helps you ignore the myriad other factors, both prominent and subtle, in the larger picture.

Not the biggest fan TBH but I have always been a fan of comic book art...

Apple owes you nothing. They don't announce anything anyway, so this is nothing new. Just, chill out. If you need a phone, go get a phone. The iPhone 4 is incredible tech. If you want to wait for the latest and greatest, buying something used and stick your sim card in it to get you through.

I just want subscriptions on my iPad and the main point is, whether you agree or disagree with Apple's opt-in policy, this is still a major sticking point with many publications. Of all the magazine/newspaper apps I use on my iPad only 2 have adopted the new subscription policy. NYT was one of those but I deleted it because those prices were insane. I just want subscription options from Wired, Popular Mechanics and Sports Illustrated. I don't care about Apple's policy, I don't care if the publisher gets my info or not... I just want subscriptions!!!!!! I have stopped and will never pay another $5 per issue for anything on the iPad. Subscriptions or nothing!

At this point, I couldn't really care less about Blu Ray or HD-DVD. I'd be more excited if Apple included Lightscribe or equivalent capability in their drives. Unlabeled discs are piled high on my desk.
Just replace your burner with a LightScribe unit and use the HP burning s/w.

My guess is that you will be covered and get the Unlimited Mobile to Any Mobile (just as the person above is on his family plan which is no longer offered).
Just wondering, are you paying more or less than the 900 Nation Plan ($59.99) for the 1350 plan which you are grandfathered in to?

Seriously, the iOS maps app is so unreliable. Sometimes it's super fast and sometimes (i.e. whenever I really need it quickly) it lags so bad, doesn't load maps or traffic info, takes forever to get directions, etc, and basically makes me want to throw my iPhone out the window. The maps app needs a serious reliability overhaul.
Also, what is so bad about the iOS notification system? I just hit "Close" if I don't care about a notification at that time.

Forgive my ignorance :o but why wait till they sell the iPad 2 till 5 pm, why not start in the morning? Weird for me for I have never got in line for 5 pm launch, either midnight or morning launch I have done before but never on 5 pm launch.
