They have given up looking for job because we (tax payers) are feeding them with unemployment benefits.......that are almost equal to normal wage of a hard working person..... whose fault is that?? Immigrants?? oh yeah..

A big help would be for someone to post contact details for some of the officials (USCIS, DOS, Ombudsman). We would be able to pass this information to the senator's aides or fax/mail the letter directly.

I'm one of those who say with pride that I can create jobs and buy houses. Then why will not congress or policy makers not touch this. As some here said it depends upon what we think about ourselves. I know many people who like to work under someone even after 10-15 years, my brother is like that, and I know many more like me who want to start companies, employ many people, and do bigger things. Both may be right in their own ways, but if you project yourself like me, then the doors will open.. Show enterprise..

The flavour of the day populist agenda is blaming immigrants for all the current economic mess and thats why politicians will be working against legal immigration rather than for it.
But I admire your spirit and agree that we need to show the people how much potential we have for the betterment of this country, if only they let us do it.

Flowers can work this time also. Any/All suggestions, which help to pass the visa recapture bill are most welcome. I think, right time to start any campaign would be after election. In the meantime, we can utilize this time to come up with firm action plan. IV core team is requested to decide the course of action and declare the action plan.

Most of the Eb3's are either working for big companies who won't do GC in EB2 or not qualified for eb2 ( so called 3 year degree ) and enjoying all these years when they know clearly eb3 is not going any where ...what in the world prevent them to move up the ladder and porting their PDs ...They dont want to take any risk and just show their frustation in internet forums

So dear Mr. pathfinder, could u suggest me a �BETTER" path if I have 3 years of bachelors from India with 8 years of IT experience when I landed in USA in 2003. I applied my labor in 6/2006 and my I-140 got rejected when I applied under EB2 category coz My (B Com) was 3 years of degree and not 4 years. So, don�t generalize the problem just because you are not facing it.

And one thing that has not got enough press here is , how the EB3-ROW has got significant overflow in the last two months though EB2- I/C are no where near current. Per common understanding , they should not get a single overflow till EB2 is current .

The total Pending in Aug 2009 was
EB2 ALL- 75K. EB3 all -151K . So total ~ 225K
The demand data today is EB2 = 34K(this is only I/C, no ROW demand)
Demand for EB3 = 136K.
So even though reduction in backlog is significant (225K- 170K =55K). It is not going to all categories evenly.
And unless USCIS comes up with a smarter way to determine demand data other than counting pending I-485, once this demand goes to zero they will have to advance EB2 I/C dates. Now they can be smart and advance it by 6 months to not open up floodgates and test the post 2007 demand, or just follow the rule blindly that supply > demand and the category is current. Either way, the law prevents any spillover from a category unless it is current and EB2 I/C is not getting current in 2-3 years.
I also want to believe like you that the hidden demand post 2007 for EB2I/C + EB3 ROW is as low as possible. And we won't know about the exact number till USCIS does a better job of reporting approved I-140 by country.

I understand that a lot of people have a genuine concern about why we would need funds for a law-suit, especially when AILF is doing it and it wont cost members to participate.
I am not core IV member, and I do not know the right answer, so I might be wrong, but last time there was a discussion about lawsuit, and previous occasions when it was discussed, it was clear that lawsuits have to be accompanied by a simultaneous campaign of lobbying, media coverage, and buying print and radio space. If we have to make a big splash, and make it really red and dark. That will also put a lot of pressure on the concerned authorities. These related activities need $$.
